The East Village is known for its varied assortment of ethnic restaurants from the Indian eateries on East Sixth Street, sometimes called "Little Bombay, to McSorley's Old Ale House, a pub that seems unchanged since it first opened in 1854. Or visit Katz's the oldest deli in NYC established in the 1880's and eat pastrami sandwiches that you won't want to forget. You'll find Italian, French, American, Greek, Japanese, Chinese, Fish Restaurants and just about anything else you can think of. Nearby, in what was once the home of the Astor Library, the restored Public Theater has been the opening venue for many now-famous plays.

Walk to the 7/B where Crocodile Dundee was filmed. The area is where much of  'The Gangs of NY' was filmed.
